In the studio

These paintings are a deeper exploration into the process that I have been refining over the past years using subtraction and reduction techniques. This process allows the paintings to reveal as much as they conceal. Results not always predictable.
Paintings that can also feel a little unsettling. I like that.

This series of small works are on heavy paper that has been layered with homemade gesso, graphite, charcoal, inks and paint.
The paintings go through many layers, adding and subtracting media with water, solvent and sandpaper.
