These paintings are a deeper exploration into the process that I have been refining over the past years using subtraction and reduction techniques. This process allows the paintings to reveal as much as they conceal. The story is inherent to the layers of paint and through the work the story begins to be known. It is deep meditation but also something more, a sort of deep listening that seems to bridge the inner and outer worlds. Paintings that are deeply nourishing and also, I think, a little unsettling. I like that.
My Reiki practice and my creative practice both nourish each other. Being very sensitive to the energy of colour and the subtle energy systems, colour takes on new depth and metaphor.

This series of small works are on heavy paper that has been layered with homemade gesso, graphite, charcoal, inks and paint. Some pieces have added collage.
The paintings go through many layers, adding and subtracting media with water, solvent and sandpaper.
